Saturday we went to the Temple, then saw Sean, Des and the girls- it was a very good day. The morning was foggy, but by the time we got to the lower mainland it was clear enough to see Mt Baker AND Mt Rainier. Dax, Kaili and Elizabeth joined us on the trip.
This is a record of the mundane and not so mundane daily happenings that color my life on Gabriola Island.
Today. . .
too much to do and no will to do it. . . So Ron and I went out to lunch together and took a bunch of pictures. . .
The glacier
A heron
Some hungry ducks
Canada Geese and Swans. . .

Groundhog Day 2012
I juet love the "ping" and "pop" of jar lids sealing . . . I this morning I finally made the cranberry applesauce I have been planning to do for the last few weeks (months maybe?). Time seems to really be getting away from me these days! I am still trying to get last year's photos and annual letters out (maybe this week).
They have cut hours at work, which is hard on the budget, but good because I think I need to take a break and just breathe a bit. Maybe I can even catch up on some long-delayed projects.
Last week there were several big emotional stressors for me - I got an upsetting email from someone that I could not respond to for clarification until much later in the week (it had me quite worried), a couple of days later, a friend's 18 YO son was involved in a major car accident (he remains on life support), the day after the accident I was at work and called to help with a 1 week old baby who wasn't breathing. Two of those issues have resolved with very good outcomes, and I wasn't really "directly involved" other than emotional support for others in these crisis, but it still seemed a lot for me to process all at once. We continue praying for my friend and her family.
The swans are still in town and I snapped this picture last week as we drove past their field. I hope to get a few better pictures of them before they head back to the tundra.
Ron and I are planning a trip to the Temple on Saturday and we will get see our grand-daughters then too. I'm not even sure they will recognize us . . . We don't see them very often because everyone leads such busy lives and our schedules don't seem to mesh very often.
Hope all is well where you are.
